Wine Diamonds,Not Sediment

A few patrons have approached us with questions about “wine diamonds” or “bitartrate crystals” in their wines.  Rest assured, this isn't sediment!  Rarely, in our high-end wines (Classic Select and above) crystals appear after aging in the bottle.  These are harmless, tasteless and actually, an indication of high quality.

March 2022

While the Ontario Government has removed the mandatory mask mandate as of March 21st 2022, The Peterborough Public Health Unit still highly recommends we continue to mask in indoor settings. Here is the link.

We and our staff will continue to wear our masks for the next few weeks at least and will re-evaluate this issue regularly.

If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us!

December 2021 Update
Thank you to all of our customers for their questions about our Covid protocols. We’d like to provide a little end-of-2021 update!

We do not require you to show your vaccine passport to enter our store as we are considered an “essential business”. That said, face masks are absolutely mandatory and we ask you to keep a safe distance from everyone at all times.
We made the decision over a year ago to eliminate sampling while bottling as we know it’s safest for everyone to remain masked. Instead we continue to offer complimentary sample jars for any leftover wine. Don’t worry, none ever gets wasted! Just recently, we’ve also added HEPA air cleaners throughout the store as well, to keep us even safer.
We have a fully-vaccinated team here and we are all rapid testing once a week. Our super team of wine elves work very hard every day to keep things clean, safe and running smoothly. We are so thankful for them all! We couldn’t do this without them!
A couple of reminders: when arriving for your bottling appointment, please arrive on time, not early. This helps eliminate crowding inside, helps with parking availability and also allows us time to fully sanitize the bottling station and carts for you. Also, please remember to put your mask on outside and keep it on until you are outside once again. Lastly, be sure to be screening yourself daily, using the online provincial tool before entering local businesses. It is found on your wine bottling confirmation email and also here: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/screening/customer/
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and patience as we all navigate these unusual times.
We wish you all the best this holiday season! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and our sincere best wishes for a safe and healthy New Year!!

October 2021

Many of you have asked about whether we will require a vaccine passport here. As we are deemed an Essential Business, we are not required to ask you for proof of vaccination or a passport.

We do, however, ask that you continue to
social distance here, do not come to our shoppe
if you are unwell or have any Covid symptoms and wear a mask, as masks are mandatory.

Thank you for your cooperation!

July 2021
Happy Summer!

As we head into Step 3 of the Provinical reopening, we have updated our Covid-19 protocols.

We are so happy to see things improving locally, provincially and nationally. We hope you’re enjoying gathering with friends and family and dining out again!
We have high hopes for this summer and beyond!

Some good news:
Additional bottling appointments are now being added daily! You can now come as a group of up to 3 people per station, thanks to our increased capacity!

Masks are still 100% mandatory as is social distancing of 2m.+ (Hint: we have dots on the floor to help with that part 😉) Please keep your mask on at all times while here and as such, sampling is still not allowed. We will continue to offer complementary take-home jars for any left-over wine. 🍷 Thank you for your continued cooperation.

Please screen yourself for Covid symptoms before coming in to our store. For your safety, we screen all of our staff before every shift and are happy to share that all of our team are now fully-vaccinated. We are doing all we can to keep our families and the people of our wonderful community safe! ❤️

We hope to be able to resume fun things like wine tours, events and sampling in store soon! For now, we thank you for your ongoing support of our little shoppe and for doing your part to keep Peterborough and area safe! We can’t wait to see you soon!

Cheers!

Lauryn, Brooke, Tilly, Katherine and Emily

January 14th 2021

With the announcement on Monday January 11, Ontario is now in another lockdown with more restrictions in place to keep everyone safe.  We are able to remain open!  In addition to our diligent cleaning and santising processes and increased safety measures, we made a few more changes from those we made in December.

Remember:

**Masks are mandatory.  You may not enter our shoppe without one.

**Maintain a 2 meter physical distance from staff and patrons at ALL times when here.

New Proceedures and Protocols:

-Maximum of FIVE (5) people in the store, staff and customers included at one time.

-One bottling appointment at a time, with 2 people maximum attending, from same household.

-When you arrive, our door may be locked.  Please wait until another patron leaves our shoppe before we can let you in.  Whether you are scheduled to bottle, are wanting to pick up a kit or supplies, we cannot let you in if we are in excess of our maximum of 5 people.

-Please consider ordering online or you may call us to preorder wine & beer kits, wine/beer making supplies and giftware.

If you have ANY questions or concerns about your safety while here, about your wine or bottling appointment, please call or email us!

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate through this pandemic.  Thank-you for your support and stay safe!

To Our Dear Customers:

As we head into the New Year and another lockdown,
we remain so very grateful for your continued support of our small family business and we thank-you all from the bottom of our hearts for choosing us!

As you know, Peterborough is now in a provincially mandated COVID-19 lockdown, until January 23rd at least. We are fortunately able to stay open but with very modified

Here are the new procedures:

~Wine bottling appointments are one-at-a-time, two people maximum, same household only

~Wine making is also by appointment only. Please order and book online and/or call us to book an appointment to make your next batch of wine

~25% maximum occupancy means we must greatly restrict the number of people in the store (staff included) so the door will be locked, as needed to ensure no more than 9 people are inside our shoppe at one time

~Wear a mask, please distance 6 feet or more at all times and wash your hands or use our hand sanitizer often

~Please arrive on time for your appointment,
but NOT EARLY.
We hate to keep people waiting outside,
especially this time of year but we must stick to the capacity restrictions. Also, to make things quicker, please consider taking your labels home to apply.

~We will be screening ourselves and our staff daily and we ask you to do the same for yourself.  Please stay away if you’re not feeling well, if you have visited with anyone outside of your household in the previous 14 days or if you have traveled outside of the boundaries of our health unit.

We all need to do our part to keep the people of our community safe! "❤"️
Thank you in advance for your understanding and
observance of these new rules.

We are thankful that we continue to be able to serve you and
thank you again for your support of our small business!

Stay safe and Happy Holidays!
Jennifer, Sarah and staff

December 26th 2020

Thank you so much for your calls and emails the last couple of days! We are happy to report that we are once again allowed to be open during the coming lockdown.

That said, there will of course be some changes to our bottling scheduling and store capacity to help keep everyone safer. More details to come.

If you have a bottling appointment booked with us over the next few weeks or if you have yet to pick up an order or gift, we look forward to seeing you!

As you have heard by now, Peterborough is moving to Yellow Zone on Monday November 23rd. In keeping with a higher level of safety for our customers, we have a couple of things to remind you of and a couple of changes.

*Please continue to wear a mask at all times while in our shoppe.
*Always keep six feet from other customers and our staff.
*Please wash your hands when you arrive and make use of any of the seven hand sanitizer stations throughout the store.

*NEW: Please DO NOT arrive early for your bottling appointment.
This is really important.

We have worked hard to safely accommodate as many people as we can per day and by arriving early you can put us over the safe capacity of our store. If you arrive early, you may not find a convenient parking space and/or you could find the door temporarily locked. In order to keep everyone safe, we will allow the previous customer to depart, before allowing your entry. If the door is locked when you arrive, you can call us from your car or wait out front for our signal.

*NEW: Please stay safe at home and use our online store to purchase gift certificates! You can send your gift by email to the recipient or send it to yourself to print and give in person.
Multiple denominations are available for the wine lover on your list.  Here is the LINK

We thank you again for your amazing support
and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Cheers!
Jennifer & Sarah

 May 24th 2020

It has been two months of a very different lifestyle, hasn’t it? It’s a whole new world. Many people are not working, some of us are still working or are back to work and students are all learning from home. We are shopping differently, walking/exercising a lot more and discovering new hobbies and interests. All ages and demographics have been affected in so many different ways. Thankfully, our area has been very lucky... let’s keep it up everyone!

We have some great news, especially for those of you with wine ready to bottle! Starting this Tuesday May 26th, we will be adding a few additional bottling appointments per day, by strategically opening both bottling stations. This will be done carefully and with great attention to social distancing and sanitization, as always. We look forward to being able to accommodate more of you, with these changes. We have created even more separation between the areas of our store and remind everyone to arrive on time, be patient and keep a safe distance from others :)

We’ve been asked a lot about face masks. 😷
We do not require face masks be worn, as social distancing is easily accommodated in our spacious store. However, if you’ve been told to wear one or feel better wearing one, please do! Just please remember: DO NOT touch your mask at all, while wearing it in our store. Doing so compromises the safety it provides you and others. It must fit tightly to your face and must not be touched. If you must adjust it, please wash or sanitise your hands immediately.

Call us if you have any questions or concerns.  Stay safe!

Sarah & Jennifer

-—————————————————————————————

April 1st, 2020

We are in very uncertain times because of COVID-19. We will remain open for business, but with some adjustments to our day-to-day operations. Our goal is to continue to provide you with a clean, open space to bottle your wine quickly and with appropriate personal distancing.

In order to minimize the number of customers in our store, we have significantly reduced the number of bottling appointments per day. We will also be alternating the appointments between our two stations to give us time to thoroughly clean and disinfect before their next use. We ask you to please adhere to your scheduled time and please do not visit us if you have travelled in the last 2 weeks. These things will help keep us all healthy :)

As always, our website is available 24/7 for you to place a wine order or to book an appointment, Visit www.wineshoppeonpark.ca We will also be accepting phone orders until this situation has passed. Call us at 705-749-9463 for more information on this.

In store, we have increased our use of microfiber cloths, bleach and Lysol to treat all surfaces throughout the day and after each customer visit. All of our equipment is fully cleaned and sanitized before each use, as it always has been. We have anti-bacterial soap and hand sanitizer throughout the store for your use.

Even with all of these adjustments, should you wish to delay bottling your wine... no problem! Wine ages beautifully here, with no harm coming to it from not being in bottles. Just let us know your wishes and we’d be happy to store your wine for you, at no extra charge.

We are hopeful that this global situation is short-lived and that our community stays safe and healthy. We realise that things are constantly changing so we will stay in touch with you all in the coming weeks.

Yours,
Jennifer and Sarah
